Year 7 Homework

Invent Mythical Creature Hwk- (Due next lesson)

Look at examples of Mythological Creatures on the internet and design your own creature.  Refer to tips given in-
When designing your creature don't just think about the body parts you are going to use, also consider scale and the possibility of repeating parts (e.g. Cerberus, a many headed dog; makes a good guard dog for the gates of hell!)

Yr 7 Van Gogh Presentation Homework Guide
Whilst working on this presentation keep in mind that someone who knows nothing about Van Gogh could learn the basics of his life and art that he produced and will appreciate why his work is so famous now from looking at your presentation.  In other words why are we, one the other side of the world, over 100 years after his death, learning about Van Gogh?
Your presentation must include-
  • 2-3 Apps (App Smashing) used in presentation on the life and artworks of Van Gogh (e.g. if the main part was a PowerPoint like presentation, aim for about 8 pages)
  • If one of your Apps is not on the school list, you must make this a minor part
  • You must include plenty of pictures (e.g. pictures on each slide if the main part of your presentation is done in GooglePresentation)
  • Your writing must be in your own words.  Do your own research but also refer to the timeline on you iPad, questions on our Padlet wall and Simple English Wikipedia, etc).  If you don't understand what is written then don't use/copy it, look elsewhere!
  • Must have a section where you have focused on 1-2 of his paintings (comment of what the painting was about, date painted, materials, what people think of it now, where is this painting now, how much it last sold for, etc)
